Bag Meghan Markle carried on Nottingham visit is trending

When Nottingham hosted the now Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their first official engagement back in December 2017, the city was excited to see just what the soon to be royal couple would say and what Meghan Markle would wear. While the couple's bombshell Netflix documentary is sparking interest in the couple at the moment, it was an accessory carried by Meghan that had fashionistas talking at the time.

During the visit, Meghan was seen carrying a bag created by an Edinburgh-based brand that currently retails at £545 plus. Now, it seems, the Strathberry Midi Tote bag that she carried on the day is trending once again, according to Hello magazine.

While the revelations from the pair's new docu-series are splitting opinion, with this week's trailer seeing the media and the palace under fire once again, in happier times, people were talking about her debut 'walkabout bag' with Prince Harry.

During the Netflix series, the second volume of which airs today, Thursday, December 15, the Duchess recalled how she was introduced to the concept of a royal walkabout. While it seems she was confused by the concept and what she should wear for the occasion, it seems she made the right choice for the Nottingham walkabout - the bag immediately sold out.

At the time, Hello reported Strathberry CEO Leeanne Hundleby saying that the exposure of the then soon-to-be royal carrying the bag gave the brand "such a boost." Today, the bag is in stock and on the firm's website price between £545 and £625 depending upon which of the 17 colours you choose from the line. A smaller version of the bag comes in at £355 and is described at The Strathberry Nano Tote.
