Austin police pulled over a woman. Then they allegedly found 400 stolen cards in her car, along with gift cards and thousands of pieces of mail

What began as a targeted effort by local law enforcement to execute a single, routine arrest warrant quickly turned into one of the largest mail theft and identity fraud discoveries in recent Texas history.

According to Wealth of Geeks, on Aug. 25, tactical officers intercepted a vehicle in north Austin. Searches of the vehicle and a suspect’s residence uncovered a massive cache of stolen property: 400 suspected stolen bank cards, 17 stolen postal keys and thousands of pieces of mail, exposing what appeared to be a highly organized financial crime operation.
