Dublin's weather gods must have known that Singin' in the Rain was coming to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, as the heavens poured down on the city during opening night.
Umbrellas were seen in the hands of pedestrians yesterday evening, and that’s exactly what you saw at the show.
And for those thinking that they could dry off in the theatre, the iconic rain scenes left members of the crowd a little wetter than when they arrived as the cast kicked puddles of water at them.

The Dublin audience could be seen putting their umbrellas up from their seats as well as shuffling to put on their coats.
It was amazing to see 6,000 litres of water at 37 degrees being used on stage. It takes 15 minutes to drain and afterwards it is recovered, recycled, cleaned, and used again.
The marvellous musical, based on the classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, is in Dublin for one week only.
You can travel back to the glamour of Hollywood during the roaring 1920s, where silent movie star Don Lockwood is living the dream.
He has a string of hit films and a string of female fans, but what Don doesn’t know is that the big screen is about to find its voice, and a chance meeting with a talented young chorus girl who helps change both Don - and Hollywood - for the better.
The show is all about the transition from the silent screen to the talkies – and there’s plenty of funny moments.
Cosmo Brown is the dark horse star of the show. His version of Make 'Em Laugh is brilliantly executed.
Throughout the show, his wonderful comedic timing makes him a standout character, and he has the ability to put a smile on every audience member's face.
The choreography and sets are extremely colourful and that’s exactly what you want from a musical - great energy, songs, dancing, and a captivating story.
It’s inevitable that you will be humming the iconic songs on the journey home so don’t save it for a rainy day, you can book your tickets here.
