Priority Tickets to see Asake perform at the O2 Brixton Academy sold out in minutes this morning. And now, after disappointed fans turned online in disbelief, a second performance date has been added.
“UK Terminators Sold out my 1st LONDON show in 5 minutes una too much Can’t leave anyone out 2nd Date added!... I can’t wait to see you all!!” Tweeted the 27-year-old Nigerian Afrobeats singer.

The next round of tickets is set to go on sale on Monday. The tickets on sale today were Priority Tickets – General Tickets for the first show will also go on sale on Monday. So now fans will have the opportunity to buy tickets for both the December 11 show and December 12 show.
“Only witches and wizards got tickets for asake so if you were successful you know your category,” Tweeted one fan.
“Lol I can’t believe the PRIORITY tickets sold out that quickly? Like who actually managed to cop those Asake tickets?” said another.
“Asake sold out ofc, I wish I could be there!!” said a third, while another said: “Asake currently causing commotion in London.” And, as could have been anticipated, the internet produced a plethora of memes about this morning’s (lack of) tickets sale.

Asake has only been releasing music since 2018 but has fast become one of Nigeria’s most popular musical exports.
According to Rolling Stone, the artist has amassed as many as 350 million streams, and this is with relatively little music – his first studio album, Mr. Money with the Vibe was released just over three weeks ago (and peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart). Before then, Asake’s popularity has largely grown from a handful of extremely popular singles.
His single Asake - Sungba (Remix) with Burna Boy has garnered as many as 26 million views on YouTube, his Peace Be Unto You (PBUY) video has 14 million views and the video to his Fireboy DML collaboration track, Bandana, has 17 million views.
The singer-songwriter is signed to Nigerian rapper Olamide’s label YBNL, alongside Fireboy DML (who recently collaborated with Madonna on a Frozen remix).
Speaking to Rolling Stone this month Asake said: “My music talks about life in general. I grew up in a neighbourhood that is considered dangerous, a neighbourhood where everyone wakes up to hustle for their daily meals. It taught me how to survive in good times and bad times.
“So I draw inspiration from my real life experiences to encourage everyone who thinks their present reality is constant; I want them to always remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
