Arsenal transfer round-up: Jarrod Bowen boost as Gunners in three-way transfer stand-off

Arsenal have enjoyed a successful pre-season with five successive victories, including three on their recent tour of the United States against Everton, Orlando City and Chelsea, as Mikel Arteta is hoping to celebrate with at least one more signing this summer.

And he may have his wishes granted, with recent reports revealing that the Gunners have received a boost in their pursuit of West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen, as the Spaniard looks to add to his attack, while La Liga outfit Valencia could yet play a big part in another arrival, as well as a departure, in north London this summer.

Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of the Emirates Stadium…

Gunners handed Jarrod Bowen boost

Arsenal have landed a huge signing in the form of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City this summer, with four goals in four pre-season games already impressive so far, but Mikel Arteta is not looking to stop there and still hopes to add further reinforcements to his front line.

And West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen could be the next through the doors in north London after the Gunners received a boost in their pursuit of the England international, with football.london reporting that the Hammers are chasing Rennes forward Martin Terrier.

The report states that the highly-rated Frenchman could be lined up as Bowen’s successor should he depart east London, following another impressive season in which he recorded 17 goals and 13 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions last season.

Arsenal in three-way transfer stand-off

Arsenal remain strongly linked with a move for midfielder Arthur Melo this summer as Juventus look to get him off their books and Mikel Arteta looks to boost his options in the middle of the park, but now they face an awkward situation involving one of their own players and Valencia.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Valencia have made contact with Juventus over a potential deal to sign Arthur, having already targeted Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, whose agent has already claimed that there is an agreement in place for the Uruguayan to join Valencia, but there is no deal yet with Arsenal, according to Sport890, via HITC.

To make matters more confusing, Arsenal are allegedly willing to send Torreira to Juventus as part of a swap deal for Arthur, as previously reported by Calciomercatoweb, meaning that the Gunners, Juventus and Valencia are all intertwined in negotiations surrounding Arthur and Torreira.

Leno handed summer exit lifeline

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno is on the verge of leaving Arsenal this summer after losing his spot to Aaron Ramsdale last season and falling further down the pecking order with the arrival of Matt Turner this summer, with Fulham expected to be his most likely destination.

And although a deal looked likely for the German to move to the Cottagers this summer, negotiations broke down after Arsenal refused to back down on their £12million valuation of the player, which is said to be out of Fulham’s price range.

Now, however, Leno may have a lifeline to still leave the Emirates Stadium ahead of the new season, with Area Napoli reporting that his representatives are in talks with Napoli to see if he can leave England for the Serie A club, who have been long term admirers of the goalkeeper.
