Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has tipped Gabriel Martinelli to shine as a No.9 for the Gunners - just days after the Londoners snapped up Gabriel Jesus in a blockbuster £45million deal.
Arsenal were left with a dearth of central striking options after sanctioning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's move to Barcelona last January. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah were the only two senior strikers on the books, with the latter establishing himself as the Gunners' main man in the final weeks of the season.
With Arsenal light on attacking options, sourcing a new striker was always going to be Mikel Arteta's top priority this summer; and after a protracted chase, the Gunners finally struck a deal to bring Jesus to north London earlier this week.
