The key Arsenal transfer headlines on Saturday, July 23.
Arsenal eye Raphinha alternative
Arsenal are one of several Premier League clubs interested in PSV winger Cody Gakpo, football.london understand. The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium last summer and a move could be back on the cards.
It's also understood that the Netherlands international is keen to one day play in the Premier League, although his current priority is making his country's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Gakpo is hugely admired by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta following an impressive 2021/22 campaign which saw the Dutchman net 21 goals and provide a further 15 assists in 47 appearances.

Edu revisits Arthur deal
Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal. football.london revealed back in January that the Gunners were keen to bring the Brazil international to London Colney on loan, but a move eventually failed to materialise.
Now, according to Italian outlet CMW, the north London outfit are ready to table a player-plus-cash offer involving Lucas Torreira as a ploy to secure Arthur's signature this summer. The Uruguay international has spent the last two seasons on loan after falling down the pecking order under Arteta stewardship.
Torreira joined from Sampdoria for £24million back in 2018 and has just one-year left on his contract. He now faces an increasingly uncertain future.
Arteta offered Lemar
Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid winger Thomas Lemar, according to L’Equipe. Both the Gunners and Everton are said to turned their noses up at the chance to sign Lemar in recent windows, with the Spanish giants growing frustrated with the France international's inconsistency.
He was one of AS Monaco's key players during their 2016/17 Ligue 1-winning campaign but he has since failed to live up to his potential in Spain, scoring just nine times in 142 outings for Diego Simeone's side. Despite Arsenal's decision to once snub the 27-year-old, they have now changed their mind, it seems.
