Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was handed an untimely injury setback during the 2-0 friendly defeat against Juventus with Reiss Nelson limping off with a suspected hamstring problem.
The winger, unfortunately, lasted just 21 minutes on Saturday evening and his immediate departure from the pitch after receiving treatment suggests he is likely to miss the clash against West Ham United on Boxing Day when the Premier League season restarts following the World Cup break.
As a result, there have been suggestions that Nelson's injury should speed up the Gunners' search for reinforcements across the forward line ahead of the January transfer window opening in a fortnight's time. However, Arteta has insisted plans haven't been affected despite the blow.
