Appeal issued amid "growing concerns" for Renfrew man who disappeared last week

An urgent appeal has been issued by police in the hunt for a missing man who disappeared last week.

Ian McNamara, 50, was reported missing from his Renfrew home having last been seen at midnight on Wednesday, April 27.

Police say they have “growing concerns” for his welfare as they issued a plea to the public to get in touch if they have any information that can help them trace the 50-year-old.

Police have described Ian as being 5 foot 10 inches tall; of large build; with greying, fair, short hair; and having no glasses, scars or tattoos.

Sergeant Sharon Crawford: “We have growing concerns for Ian, and as time goes by, we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“It is believed that Ian may be in the area of North Ayrshire.

“If anyone has seen Ian or has any information which could assist in our enquiries, please get in touch.”

Anyone who may have seen Ian or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland via their non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1190 of May 1, 2023.
