Antonio Rudiger gives Chelsea contract update amid Manchester United links

Antonio Rudiger has given an update on his ongoing contract situation at Chelsea amid Manchester United links.

The German centre-back will be a free agent this summer with his contract set to expire at Stamford Bridge.

At this point, representatives of both parties apparently remain at loggerheads with no indication that a new deal is close.

The 28-year-old is currently having one of his best seasons in the Premier League, and has established himself as a regular in Thomas Tuchel's backline.

However, the club have not met his demands on a new long-term deal.

Rudiger has given Chelsea fans a boost though, speaking of his desire to potentially remain at the club.

He told Sky Sports: "Like always, I'm fully committed to the cause.

"Talks are between my side and the club, and that's everything you need to know.

"You have to think about your family. My kids were born here in London so that tells you that my family feel great here.

"The rest is up to other people to make decisions and then we will see if we come together or not."
