Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte admitted that Manchester United were worthy winners over his side on Wednesday night as Erik ten Hag's men secured an important victory at Old Trafford.
United ran out 2-0 winners over Spurs thanks to second-half goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes. The home side dominated proceedings and limited the visitors to just two shots on target while recording 10 themselves.
Spurs had the chance to move up to second in the Premier League table with a win, instead, the Reds' victory sees them close the gap on the top four and move one point behind Chelsea in fourth.

After the match, Conte suggested that United deserved the three points, before going on to praise Ten Hag's side for their performance on the night.
"I think the game, United deserved to win. They played a really good game and in this sort of game our level has to be high but we need to improve a lot to try to be better than today," said Conte.
"United played better than us and created better chances than us. In the pitch we put will and desire but we have to know at this level we have to try to improve and be better because the level was high today and United showed today they were much better than us.
"United are a really good team and I know very well this club and what they did in the transfer market and what they can spend. At the same time, I think in this game we can do much better. We struggled against Arsenal, Chelsea and again tonight."
The Reds face off against Chelsea in their next Premier League match, with United travelling to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
