Anti-Israel Protests Escalate On US College Campuses

Anti-Israel protest in Tehran

Recent weeks have seen a surge in anti-Israel protests outside the home of Republican Sen. Ted Cruz in Houston, Texas. Sources have revealed that the protesters are linked to the Students for Justice in Palestine group, known for their presence on college campuses across the country.

Since February, Cruz's residence has been the focal point of 14 protests, with the latest occurring last Friday resulting in the arrest of one individual. Despite the demonstrations, Cruz's office has affirmed the senator's unwavering support for Israel, dismissing the protesters' actions as mere 'harassment or intimidation.'

A spokesperson for Cruz emphasized that the senator stands firmly with Israel, advocating for its right to self-defense and the eradication of Hamas. The spokesperson reiterated that no amount of pressure from supporters of terrorism would sway Cruz's stance.

Meanwhile, student activists affiliated with the Students for Justice in Palestine have been making their presence felt on various college campuses nationwide. At Columbia University, radicals took over Hamilton Hall, while universities like UCLA, Harvard, and Yale are addressing student encampments demanding complete divestment from Israel.

The surge in protests follows the recent conflict initiated by Hamas in Israel, which sparked a wave of antisemitism on college campuses. Incidents such as protests, threatening graffiti, and reports of Jewish students feeling unsafe have been on the rise. The situation has escalated to the point where Jewish students are being advised to leave campus for their own safety.
