Anthony Richardson’s beautiful 60-yard TD throw looks more ridiculous from this unreal camera angle

It wasn’t perfect by any means, but Indianapolis Colts second-year starting quarterback Anthony Richardson showed off glimpses of his immense potential in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.

While unpolished and with work to do, Richardson was so good that he almost helped the Colts upset the Houston Texans, one of the AFC favorites, in Week 1. No wonder the Colts are so high on him and willing to be patient as he develops.

The Richardson play everyone is still talking about two days later is his absolutely ridiculous 60-yard rainbow touchdown pass to Alec Pierce. The sequence features Richardson actually slipping while moving around in the pocket before simply flicking his wrist for one of the best natural throws I’ve ever seen.

And while the normal replay is fun to watch, the Colts unveiled an aerial camera angle that made Richardson’s throw look positively spellbinding:

If I didn’t know any better, that ball was going to the moon, not into Pierce’s hands in the end zone. The Colts might have themselves a special quarterback, so it’s no surprise they’re promoting his wizardry in innovative ways.
