Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou was kept on his toes as he looked ahead to facing off against Dundee United - after a microphone collapsed moments into his press conference.
The Scottish Premiership leaders welcome United this weekend as they look to shake off their Champions League group stage disappointment and the heavy defeat at the hands of European champions Real Madrid. Despite their European struggles, Celtic have been relentless domestically and Parkhead fans will be hoping to be treated to a Bonfire Night bonanza against Liam Fox's side.
However, it was a bang of a different kind that caught out the Celtic boss when a microphone fell off a stand with the Parkhead boss midway through a point reflecting on the Champions League exit. However, the Australian kept his cool after a brief stop and continued his answer despite the momentary scare as he admitted his players had room for improvement on the European stage.
Speaking on the defeat in Spain, Postecoglou said: "To continue the analogy, I don't think we got knocked out. I still think we are clear-headed.
"There is no surprise in the level we faced and knowing we need to improve but as an exercise in testing ourselves and measuring ourselves, we did that. The players understand the levels required and it's up to us to chip away at that gap.
"You have to take that sort of mentality into your domestic competition. There is no point going through what we did this year and try and address it in 12 months' time if we qualify again, because you have wasted 12 months developing those areas.
"The idea is to take those learnings from the Champions League and put them into the Premiership and cup competitions and try and raise our level of football. I talk to the players about Champions League football and Champions League standards every day. There shouldn't be a difference to the way we prepare for Real Madrid or Dundee United."
