Leeds United are striving to appoint former River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo as they upped their search for a new manager - according to a report in Argentina.
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been among the names linked with the vacant managers post at Elland Road after Jesse Marsch was sacked following a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest earlier this month. Ariel Senosain reports Gallardo is now the preferred candidate for the role after West Brom boss Carlos Corberán turned it down. While, Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola was ruled out after the La Liga club refused permission to speak to him.
The Leeds hierarchy have been scouring the world for a replacement for the American with the Parkhead boss in the bookies list of potential new managers for the English Premier League side. Celtic remain confident the Australian will stay in the east end of Glasgow after a successful spell since taking over 18 months ago. The Hoops are still on course for the Treble and qualification to the Champions League
