Ange Postecoglou in cheeky Rangers swipe with set pieces assessment

It's fair to say Celtic weren't at their best on derby day.

That didn't matter in the end though, as a Kyogo double and one from Jota was enough to see off the challenge of Rangers this afternoon.

Ange Postecoglou was delighted to see his team go 12 points clear at the summit of the Premiership table with the victory.

And while it may have seemed a little more nervy than usual for the Scottish champions, Postecoglou always remained firmly confident in his players to get the job done.

His belief was partly down to his recognition that Rangers' only threat, according to him, came at set pieces.

He told Sky Sports post-match: "I'm obviously pleased with the outcome, the game had a bit of everything as you'd expect.

"There was so much significance, not just with the fact it was a derby but in the context of the season.

"It was edgy out there. We could've made it more comfortable than it was.

"For the most part we weren't too bad, I thought we weren't as crisp with our passing and sort of second-guessed ourselves at times.

"Having said that their only threat was at set pieces, but that was a real threat against us.

"Aside from that, we had some chances to put the game to bed."

He continued: "I don't know how many times I need to say this but nothing is easy mate.

"Nothing is easy, if anyone thinks any of this is easy then they need to step in my shoes for a day, or this group of players or staff.

"You've got to earn everything you get in this game. It's been an unbelievable run this group of players has been on. They have earned it the hard way and they will continue to do that."
