American Idol fans claim show is 'fixed' as contestant loses to 'unmemorable' star

American Idol fans have fumed at the outcome of Sunday night's semi-final.

Wé Ani lost her place in the final three to Colin Stough, who was voted to make it through to the final round, leaving Wé axed from the competition.

Fans were outraged by the results and took to Twitter to share their anger at the results, with many claiming that the show is "fixed."

"Your show is broken - please try to fix it!" one fan typed. "Frustrating and predictable to watch the best singers not make the finals every year."

A second chimed in, writing: "I'm not an American Idol fan, but my girl loves it. But if this Wé Ani girl doesn't win the fix is in, cuz that girl is untouchable."

A third angrily added: "DONE with American Idol! When lesser singers go through and THE BEST (Kaeyra, Mike Williams) sit on the sidelines one can only surmise 'the fix' is in by the Producers. We've seen it in other years and it's still prevalent today! DISAPPOINTING!"

Other fans on Reddit complained about Wé's missed opportunity, with many claiming that the 24-year-old was "robbed."

"Wé got robbed… Collin is marketable. He will no doubt make a few albums but come on. No way he should be top 3," they put.

Another added: "I don't remember any of his performances. I fall asleep listening to him."

While a third agreed: w"We had a shot to win. Colin does not. Just a reminder that it's mostly a popularity contest."

Wéhad previously taken to the stage to sing a powerful rendition of The Unknown from Frozen II to fit in with the Disney theme earlier in the competition, after being coached by guest mentor Sofia Carson.

Judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, who recently performed at the King's Coronation, praised Wé's vocals, with Lionel branding her a "star."

In her second act, she was joined by an orchestra to sing Miley Cyrus ' hit track, The Climb.

However, the young star was eliminated from the competition with her fellow contestant Zachariah Smith Colin, Megan Danielle, and Iam Tongi all made it to the Idol finals next week.
