American builders made houses with puja room, spice kitchen for Indians; Trump aide says 'completely end H-1B visa'

Republican Brandon Gill, who rarely hides his hatred for immigrants, including Indians, despite being married to Indian-origin Danielle D'Souza, reacted to a report on the housing market decline in Texas owing to President Donald Trump's crackdown on H-1B visa abuse. Bloomberg recently reported on this housing crisis, as Indian-Americans who charged the market during the pandemic, deciding to settle down in the US, have now been considering leaving America.

New York Post reported that CBRE Group, a real estate firm, confirmed that H-1B workers brought the housing wave in the US between 2018 and today, more than any other factor. But now, as Indian buyers are receding from the market, the prices are coming down. In Collin County, home prices fell nearly 9% year-over-year as of February, more than double the 4% drop recorded across the broader Dallas-Fort Worth metro, according to Redfin data.

Reacting to the New York Post report, Brandon Gill said: 'Now time to completely end H1B visas."
