Alfredo Morelos steps up Rangers injury recovery as he uploads series of gym snaps

Alfredo Morelos has given Rangers fans a glimpse into his recovery process as he continues to work hard in the gym in a bid to get himself fully fit for the new season.

The Colombian hitman was decked out in his Light Blues training gear has he went through a number of muscle exercises. Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been without his key striker for an extended period of time due to a thigh injury sustained on international duty last term that required surgery. He missed the business end of the campaign, including the Europa League Final defeat to Frankfurt and Scottish Cup triumph over Hearts at Hampden. Earlier this week, the Ibrox gaffer delivered an update on the hitman saying: “Morelos is doing partial training with the team now, Filip is still not training with us he had a setback so we have to wait and see how that is developing."

Now, he's posted a number of short videos of himself working hard in the gym as he aims to return to action as soon as possible in his bid to help the Ibrox men recapture the Premiership title from Celtic and reach the Champions League group stages with Union Saint-Gilloise the first hurdle to be negotiated in the third qualifying round.

His first video, shared on his Instagram story was captioned with the phrase: "Solo Fe en ti mis Dios." which translate as "Only faith in you my god."

Rangers' journey to try and join Ange Postecoglou's men at Europe's top table begins on the midweek of August 2/3 with the return showdown at Ibrox one week later on August 9.

They begin their competitive return in just 11 days time when they travel to the Tony Macaroni Arena to face Livingston in league opener.

It's been a busy summer so far with John Souttar, Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo and Malik Tillman all in the door.

Joe Aribo has left for Southampton while Calvin Bassey is closing in on a big-money move to Ajax with Ben Davies set to arrive from Liverpool as his replacement.

Morelos' future remains uncertain with his contract entering the final 12 months, like team-mate and fellow key player Ryan Kent.
