Alfredo Morelos 'rejects big-money' Rangers transfer exit chance and could extend Ibrox stay

Alfredo Morelos has REJECTED the chance of a Rangers exit - and has NOT ruled out penning a new long-term deal after interest from Turkey, according to reports.

The Scottish Sun claim the Colombian hitman has knocked back big-money from Konyaspor in this window to remain in Glasgow. The Super Lig side can still sign players with their deadline not closed yet - but the Light Blues star will not be making the move.

He's out of contract in the summer and free to talk to other interested parties as his terms continue to tick down in Glasgow. But he wasn't interested in making the move to the side currently sitting eighth in the top flight in Turkey. Morelos looked to be heading for an exit earlier this campaign but Michael Beale's arrival at the club has seen a real upturn in form and performances from the hitman and he is now believed to be considering staying in Glasgow even longer.

The 26-year-old has notched four goals and two assists in his last four outings with doubles in the games against Kilmarnock and Hearts.

Speaking about Morelos and what has sparked his improvement in the last few weeks, Beale said: "Just playing regularly and just enjoying his football. And we are creating a lot of chances. I think he could probably have a few more goals if I'm honest and that has probably driven him.

"That's two away at Kilmarnock and two away at Hearts. I am over the moon with Alfredo at the minute. He is no bother to me around the building. So far so good.

"Antonio is waiting on the sidelines, he is not 100 per cent fit. But it's difficult when a centre-forward is in such good form, it's not really an area you would voluntarily rotate.

"So it's difficult for Tony but earlier in the season the reverse was true and Tony was scoring a lot. So it's a good place for us to be in."
