Attention all gin lovers, as Aldi has teamed up with an Edinburgh -based distillery to launch a new premium gin that will cost less than £20 a bottle.
The budget supermarket is catering to gin lovers all across the country with their brand new Eidyn Cherry Blossom gin that is priced at just £19.99.
It is the latest premium spirit that has been developed exclusively for Aldi Scotland by The Old Curiosity Distillery, which is based in Scotland's capital city and known for providing award-winning gins.
It is the second time that the German discounter has teamed up with the Scots distillery on their Eidyn (ee-din) gin brand, which has been named after the Scottish Gaelic word for Edinburgh.
The new budget-friendly premium gin has been described as featuring "a fresh floral note, underscored with angelica root, winter savoury and coriander botanicals, which gives way to a light juniper finish."
All of the spirit's botanicals are grown, hand-picked and dried from the distilleries Secret Herb Garden that is based at the foot of the Pentland Hills.
The Old Curiosity Distillery has said that the new spirit will make the perfect artisan tipple and recommends that G&T lovers serve the Eidyn Cherry Blossom Gin with their favourite tonic and a sliver of lime and black cherry garnish.
Mark Boswell, Head Distiller, said: "The way we produce our gin means that our carbon emissions are incredibly low, which is something that is very important to us. With the launch of the new Eidyn Cherry Blossom gin, it is really encouraging to see Aldi support both the craft gin industry and sustainability."
It comes just after Aldi launched the Seville Orange flavour in their Scottish inspired Toradh (pronounced Tor-ig) gin range. The Scots inspired range of premium gins currently boasts six editions that are inspired by the Scottish landscape.
Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director, Aldi Scotland, said: “We at Aldi have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside The Old Curiosity Distillery since the launch of the original Eidyn gin back in 2020, which has proven to be incredibly popular and has gone on to win multiple awards.
“Scotland has such a rich abundance of fresh ingredients, so it’s great to partner with a supplier that works so hard to bring them to our shelves.
“We are extremely proud to be able to introduce another premium Eidyn gin to our customers, this time in a deliciously floral cherry blossom flavour. I am proud that our competitive prices mean that our customers can still enjoy premium, high-quality products such as Eidyn Cherry Blossom.”
Aldi's £19.99 Eidyn Cherry Blossom Gin is available in all 103 Scottish stores.
