An Ayrshire bakers' pies have impressed on a worldwide stage.
A selection of food treats created especially for Aldi by Brownings The Bakers have been recognised at the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink awards, the Great Taste Awards.
Discount retailer Aldi received 16 awards for its exceptional range of Scottish-made products, including receiving a gold star for its Brownings’ Specially Selected Gastro Chicken, Leek & Ham Pie with Arran Mustard.
Founded in 1945, Aldi’s long-term supplier, Brownings has been making pies for generations. Today, it produces over 100,000 pies each week in order to keep up demand from hungry Scots.
As one of the country’s most popular producers, Brownings knows exactly what it takes to make a good pie, and believes its success lies in the quality of ingredients used for the pastry and the filling.
Sourcing only the best flour, meat and vegetables, Brownings places a huge emphasis on attention to detail going through multiple different recipes to get the perfect texture and taste.
