Alan Shearer has summed up the general consensus amongst the Newcastle United fanbase after the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth. The Magpies legend claims the home side didn't do enough to win the game at St. James' Park this afternoon.
Eddie Howe's side fell behind to his former club, with VAR handing the Toon a second-half lifeline after Kieran Trippier's cross was adjudged to have hit the hand of a Cherries' defender, with Alexander Isak smashing home from the spot. Newcastle looked leggy as the game wore on with the visitors looking threatening on the counter.
The black and white faithful did not hide their disappointment on social media, branding the performance an embarrassing one. Shearer also waded in on the conversation on Twitter.

He tweeted: "Didn’t do enough to win today. Poor performance from the Toon. Well done Bournemouth."
The result means Newcastle have now not won since the opening day of the season, a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest. There's no immediate cause for concern, but supporters have questioned the lack of creativity in the absence of Allan Saint-Maximin.
