When the Detroit Lions spent the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft on Michigan pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson, performances like the one they saw Sunday were exactly what they had in mind.
Hutchinson was dominant in the Lions’ Week 2 victory over the Washington Commanders, racking up a trio of sacks in the first half, and making some franchise history in the process.
No Lions rookie had ever logged three sacks in a single game, let alone in a half, until Hutchinson did it Sunday.
It’s safe to say the decision-makers in Detroit are already happy with this draft pick.
