GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Smart City Limited (GSCL) has begun the process of installing streetlights, which is a demand of city residents, under the second phase of the “Project Jyoti” scheme ahead of the GMC polls to be held on April 22. The budget for the second phase of the project is Rs 14.57 crore.
The GSCL completed the first phase of the project in January last year by installing 10,000 streetlights in the city. The second phase got delayed due to several official issues and Covid-19 pandemic, a GSCL official said.
