Adele admits she has 'never been more nervous' as Las Vegas residency finally arrives

Adele has admitted she has "never been more nervous before a show in my career" as her postponed Las Vegas residency finally arrives.

The singer, 34, is set to take to the stage at The Colosseum at the Caesars Palace hotel on Friday as the momentous run of gigs gets underway.

The Tottenham native's delayed shows will take place from November 18 until March 25, with the 24 rescheduled shows joining eight extra dates.

Taking to Instagram, the Rolling In The Deep songstress shared a snap from rehearsals with her 50.2 million followers. The image showed her beaming as she performed one of her hits.

Opening up to her fans, Adele wrote: "I'm feeling all sorts as I write this. I'm highly emotional, incredibly nervous but can't sit still because I'm so excited. I feel a million miles away from home, I can't stop thinking about when I was little and saw Tom Jones in Mars Attacks and thought blimey how did he get from Wales to Las Vegas!?"

She continued: "I always get scared before shows, and I take it as a good sign because it means I care and means I just want to do a good job. Maybe it's because I didn't start when I was supposed to. Maybe it's because it's opening night, maybe it's because Hyde Park went so great, maybe it's because I love the show, I don't know.

"But it's safe to say I've never been more nervous before a show in my career, but at the same time I wish today was tomorrow! I can't wait to see you out there x."

Her words were met with an abundance of love and anticipation in the comments section. Among those sharing positive vibes was photographer Ravie B who replied: "Watching you put so much into every detail of this show has been inspiring. Thank you for letting everyone, myself included, experience it. We love you A."

Author Jedidiah Jenkins also penned: "My heart is exploding! This show is your masterpiece!!! And you’re just getting started."

Adele announced the sudden postponement back in January when she told her loyal fans the show was simply not ready.

In a tearful upload at the time, she revealed it had been "absolutely destroyed" by delivery delays and coronavirus, saying her production team had tried "absolutely everything" to pull the show together in time but that it had been "impossible".

Originally, the show was set to take place at the same venue between January and April.

Her decision to postpone was largely met with support, leading the vocalist to gush over the "best fans in the world".

Caesars Palace also threw its full support behind her, tweeting: "We understand the disappointment surrounding the postponement of Weekends With Adele. Adele is an incredible artist, supremely dedicated to her music and her fans.

"Creating a show of this magnitude is incredibly complex. We fully support Adele and are confident the show she unveils at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will be extraordinary."

Despite the initial Las Vegas disappointment, Adele has achieve huge success this year, with widespread recognition and acclaim for her latest album 30.
