Adam Idah to Celtic transfer warning as Norwich boss rules out 'stupid' decision

New Norwich manager Johannes Hoff Thorup has warned Celtic he will assess Adam Idah himself before making any decisions on his future.

The Danish coach has vowed he will decide whether Idah can play a role at Norwich before considering a transfer exit.

Idah has been heavily linked with a permanent move to Celtic with Brendan Rodgers keen on making a deal for the Republic of Ireland forward.

But, Thorup has ruled out a "stupid" decision to sanction a transfer without first running the rule over Idah as he talked up the striker.

On his thoughts on Idah, Thorup said: “Yes, definitely with that guy. He's an exciting player.

"And he's from here, and he's been in the club so many years and can do dangerous stuff up front.

"He's fast, he moves well, he gets into these areas in the box where you decide games.

"So definitely, I will have a look at him, I think otherwise it will be stupid.”

On a permanent transfer for the striker, Rodgers previously said: "Hopefully very realistic. For me, he was the catalyst for our season because we needed a different dimension up front and the big guy comes in and he's got so much potential.

" What I love about Adam is he's a big game player, he loves the big games and the big occasions so hopefully we can do something.

"He's still got a long term deal at Norwich but he's definitely someone I'd love to bring back here.

"At 23, with the potential he has and the qualities he has, I think he can really push on in his career."
