KOCHI: The additional special sessions court, where trial in the actor assault case is progressing, dismissed the prosecution's petition to re-send the memory card, which contains crucial visual evidence of the assault, to forensic science lab for examination. Though the court had rejected the petition and issued an order on May 9, prosecution submitted in court on Thursday that it was not aware of the same.
While considering a petition filed by the prosecution to cancel the bail of actor Dileep in the case, the court reminded the prosecution that it had dismissed the petition to re-examine the memory card at FSL. Prosecution had filed the petition last April claiming the further probe in the actor assault case found that Dileep had seen the sexual assault visuals illegally. It claimed that re-examining file properties of the contents in the memory card can ascertain if it was illegally accessed.
