About 9,000 FJTJBSI six-drawer dressers sold on Amazon are being recalled because they can tip over and trap children if they are not anchored to a wall, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced September 10. According to the recall notice, the dressers violate the mandatory federal safety standard for clothing storage units required by the STURDY Act.
The recall follows two similar ones in the past month. CPSC recalled about 8,981 DUMOS nine-drawer dressers on August 13 and about 4,396 Gizoon six-drawer dressers on September 3, and both were also sold on Amazon. Together, the three recalls cover more than 22,000 dressers, and none lists an injury. On September 3, CPSC also recalled about 261 Alanca six-drawer dressers sold on Wayfair for the same violation.
