TRAFFIC Scotland has said the A9 is closed in both directions following a four-vehicle collision.
In a post on social media at 12.20, Traffic Scotland said there were reports of a collision just north of Kingussie.
It then posted an update at 12.50 and said: “A9 now CLOSED in both directions just north of Kingussie following a four-vehicle collision.
“Traffic is very slow so please take care on approach.”
A separate post then added how details of diversions for vehicles heading both north and south.
It said: "Diversion - northbound. Take the offslip onto the A86. Turn right onto A86 and continue onto the B9152 at the A86/B9152 junction and follow the road until the A95 junction - turn left onto the A95 and follow the road until the A9 junction at Granish."
The southbound update said: "Turn left onto the A95 and follow the road until the B9152 junction - turn right onto the B9152 and follow the road until the A9 junction."
It is unclear if anybody has been injured in the incident.
The National has approached Police Scotland for comment.
