(Leni) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mr Leonard Mathew Cruickshank MBE. Leni sadly passed away on 29th December 2022 aged 77 years surrounded by his partner and family. A community focused man that fought hard to better people's lives; he founded and managed "Diggers "which trained thousands in landscape gardening ,improved access to nature and animals with the first city farm and fish rearing park in Liverpool. He worked to promote education in all its forms, from the blind school to Liverpool's rich and varied history. He was recognised both nationally and internationally for his services to communities. He was a fanatical fisherman and lifelong Everton fan. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and contribution to the Liverpool folk music scene where he played guitar with many of his best pals.
