Although we'd all prefer to store things in kitchen cabinets, sometimes there simply isn't enough space in your kitchen, and that space on the top of your refrigerator starts to look quite tempting. Alternatively, perhaps you'd like to jazz up your cooking area with a trailing plant or some seasonal decorations on top of your refrigerator. The question still stands: is it safe to store things on top of your refrigerator?
While it’s tempting to place items there for an extra storage solution, it’s not a good idea. Jae Ro, an electrical expert at Plug Specialists, Signal & Power says, “The machinery in your fridge requires proper ventilation and storing items on top can obstruct airflow and affect its ability to keep items cool.”
