50-year old Costa Book Awards scrapped

Founded in 1971, the Costa Book Awards has now been discontinued after running for 50 years. The announcement was made on their official social media handle on June 10, 2022.

"After 50 years of celebrating some of the most enjoyable books written by talented authors from across the UK & Ireland, Costa Coffee has taken the difficult decision to end the Costa Book Awards. What a great 50 years it’s been!," a post by Costa Book Awards' official Twitter handle read.
