50% funds to light up South Mumbai buildings via corporate social responsibility

MUMBAI: BMC on Friday said it has raised 50% of the expenditure to get buildings on Marine Drive illuminated with colours of the Indian flag through corporate social responsibility (CSR). BMC chief Iqbal Singh Chahal met donors who came forward with their CSR contributions on Friday. BMC has received Rs 24 lakh as part of CSR funds.

Residents of sea-facing buildings on Marine Drive had resisted spending money over getting the facade of their buildings illuminated with colours of the flag, BMC had decided to spend from its own budget.
