As the parent of a three-year-old, I can confirm that this age is equal parts hilarious, exhausting and utterly brilliant. The “terrible twos” may be behind us, but they’ve been swiftly replaced by the “threenager” – complete with very strong opinions and an impressive commitment to doing everything their way.
Three is also such a fun age for play. Imagination is taking off, independence is growing and they’re constantly figuring out how the world works. My daughter loves pretending, copying what the grown-ups are doing, testing her physical limits and getting stuck into anything that lets her solve a problem herself. So, when choosing the best gifts for three-year-olds, I look for toys that encourage all of this, plus feel somewhat educational.
