WWE's biggest shareholder Vince McMahon retired last year aged 77 and has now reportedly sold the successful wrestling promotion company as daughter Stephanie resigns as CEO

In an announcement that surprised many Tuesday, co-chief executive and chairwoman of the board Stephanie McMahon resigned from World Wrestling Entertainment.

Professional wrestling trailblazer Vince McMahon is considering a return to World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., according to the Wall Street Journal. That news comes six months after he announced he was throwing in the towel amid reports of a sexual misconduct scandal including $12 million in alleged hush money payments.

The embattled former CEO is back on the company’s board of directors nearly six months after announcing his retirement.

If he goes through with it, there will surely be consequences.

He reportedly ‘intends’ to return to WWE, believing he never should have stepped down in the first place.

The WWE confirmed that McMahon had paid out nearly $20million in previously-unrecorded expenses as a special committee investigated the alleged misconduct
