MINNEAPOLIS — The next Target online order that ends up at your door might come from a new type of shipping facility aimed at making deliveries cheaper and faster.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison on Thursday filed suit against Shipt, the grocery delivery business of Target Corp., for allegedly cheating workers of benefits and rights by classifying them as independent contractors.

Customers will receive groceries directly from the Kroger warehouse when they order from the Mariano’s website, instead of only having third-party delivery options such as Instacart or Shipt.
