Carlos Correa was finally able to shed some light on his six weeks of contract negotiations after his six-year, $200 million deal with the Minnesota Twins was finalized this week.

Minnesota won back its star shortstop, but it has more work to do in its lineup in order to set its sights on October.

The third time is the charm.

Correa saw deals with both the Giants and Mets fall through after failing his physical exams.

MINNEAPOLIS — The reaction when it was revealed on Dec. 20 that agent Scott Boras had rebounded from San Francisco's cold feet on the signing of Carlos Correa to land a similar deal with the New York Mets was two-fold:

MINNEAPOLIS — Saying "all that matters is what I do from this point forward," Carlos Correa rejoined the Twins, passing the team's physical exams after two other teams balked at giving the 28-year-old shortstop long-term deals.

Correa agreed Tuesday to return to the Twins after richer deals with the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets both dissolved over concerns by those clubs about an old injury to his lower leg.

He reportedly agreed to a deal that can max out to more than $200 million.
