A second warning will come into force for Monday, starting at 12am and remaining in place till 11.59pm. It comes following a wave of hot weather across the country, as temperatures in Glasgow reached around 30 degrees on Saturday.

Thunderstorms are also to be expected to continue into Monday August 15 and showers will remain throughout the day on Tuesday but no yellow weather warning for thunder and lightning will be in place.

A bright Sunday will keep that summer feeling going in the North East, according to the Met Office.
