Winter is set to eat Ayrshire early this weekend after the MET office issued a yellow weather warning for Saturday, September 3.
Many parts of North, East, and South Ayrshire will face a miserable weekend as heavy rains hit the coast.
It's understood that heavy showers are likely to cause some travel disruption and flooding, the forecaster has said.
The warning is in place from midnight Saturday, September 3 for 24 hours.
The warning from the Met Office reads: "Occasional periods of heavy rain through Saturday may lead to travel disruption.
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
- There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
- Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- There is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads
- There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses."
The weather warning comes one day after the Met Office announced the storm names for the 2022/23 season.
Antoni, Betty and Cillian will be the first named storms for the group this year.
