DURHAM, N.C. — No longer coaching but still involved in the college sports landscape as a Duke ambassador, Mike Krzyzewski’s assessment of college athletics is that the current model is at a breaking point.

In late April, USC was accused by Pittsburgh coach Pat Narduzzi of tampering with star wide receiver Jordan Addison, using name, image and likeness deals in an attempt to lure the player to Los Angeles before he had even entered his name in the transfer portal.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn said Emmert’s resignation will “enable the NCAA to support our student-athletes.”

Two Power 5 commissioners are set to lobby lawmakers Thursday about creating federal legislation to regulate the name, image and likeness landscape.
