NEW YORK - Madonna said Monday she's on "the road to recovery" after a bacterial infection that required hospitalization, in the US pop icon's first statement since landing in the intensive care unit late last month.

Madonna's health scare doesn't seem to be stopping her from going out. The singer was spotted by a fan 'looking good,' despite her recent hospital visit.

The singer was admitted to hospital at the end of June during rehearsals for her world tour, which she has been forced to reschedule.

After postponing her career-spanning Celebration Tour due to a “serious bacterial infection" last month and spending several days in an intensive care unit, Madonna says she's “on the road to recovery.”
