The Sky are trying to become the third team in WNBA history to win back-to-back titles, and the first since the Sparks in 2001-2002. To accomplish that, they will have to go through a league that will see even more parity in 2022.

The exact terms of Copper’s deal were not disclosed but a league source told the Sun-Times pending any last-minute changes it will be a two-year deal.

Copper led the Sky to their first-ever title last fall.

A two-time WNBA All-Star and native of New York, Dolson joined the Sky in 2017 in a trade that sent Elena Delle Donne to the Washington Mystics for Dolson and Kahleah Copper. In five seasons with the Sky, Dolson averaged 10 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 133 games.
