AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas state senator representing Uvalde sued the Texas Department of Public Safety Wednesday for refusing to disclose records related to the May 24 Robb Elementary School shooting.

State and local Uvalde officials have fought the release of records that could provide clarity on the botched emergency response to the shooting that killed 19 children and two educators.

Public safety official said enough officers present to stop the shooting three minutes after gunman entered the school.

A special Texas Senate committee is meeting at 9 a.m. Central on Tuesday in response to the Uvalde school shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead.
