Freedom of Russia Legion social media reports contradict Russian claims to have repelled the rebel incursion

Russia said on Thursday it had repelled more cross-border attacks from Ukraine while its aerial assaults on Kyiv killed another three people including a nine-year-old girl and her mother locked out of an air raid shelter.

Russia's defence ministry on Thursday said it had thwarted three Ukrainian attacks on the Belgorod region which borders Ukraine, Russian news agencies reported.

A settlement in the border district of Belgorod, eight apartment buildings, four homes, a school and two administrative buildings were damaged during the shelling. Read further on Dynamite News

Russia said it had repelled an attempted incursion along its border with Ukraine on Thursday by what it casts as pro-Ukrainian militants, while heavy shelling and a suspected drone attack prompted a partial evacuation of civilians from the area.

Russia’s Belgorod region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov says more than 1,000 children due for evacuation from border areas.

The Russian capital had previously been largely shielded from the conflict apart from the effects of sanctions.
