‘Zombie Drug’ Fears Rise After Viral Bengaluru Video Shows Motionless Man

The clip, reportedly filmed near a college in the Bagalur area, captures the individual remaining in the same position with minimal response to his surroundings. The unusual behavior quickly drew attention online, with many users questioning the cause of his condition.

The video was widely shared on social media platform X, where a caption accompanying the post raised alarm about the possible presence of a so-called “zombie drug” in the city. The post claimed that a Xylazine-laced substance—often referred to as a “zombie drug”—had entered Bengaluru, allegedly causing users to appear trance-like and unresponsive. It further warned residents, especially parents and youth, to remain vigilant.

However, the authenticity of both the video and the claims made in the post has not been independently verified.

As the clip gained traction, the Yelahanka Police Station responded in the comments section, asking the original poster to share more details via direct message. The authorities assured that the matter would be looked into.

The video has triggered widespread reactions online, with many expressing fear and concern. Some users described the situation as “scary” and hoped the individual would receive help, while others urged authorities to take strict action to prevent potential substance abuse among young people.

This incident comes shortly after a similar video surfaced from Chandigarh, where a delivery worker was reportedly seen standing motionless for hours. In that case, bystanders eventually alerted the police, and the man was taken for a medical examination. Like the Bengaluru incident, no official confirmation was provided regarding the cause of his condition, though speculation about possible drug use circulated online.

Both cases highlight how quickly unverified claims can spread on social media, often intensifying public concern without confirmed evidence. Authorities are yet to release any official findings related to either incident.
