If there was one party that perfectly bottled London in the heatwave, it was Jessica McCormack's Summer Solstice soirée.
Forget stuffy marquees or rooftop bars – the jeweller transformed Mount Street Gardens into “McCormack's Tavern” during one of June’s hottest evenings.
Co-hosted by Zoë Kravitz and Carey Mulligan, the event began inside McCormack's Carlos Place townhouse before guests spilled into the gardens for sausage rolls, Scotch eggs, mini pies and margaritas.
Drew Barrymore, Jodie Comer, Alexa Chung, Caitríona Balfe, Poppy Delevingne, Sheila Atim and Camille Charrière were among those trying their luck at Hook-a-Duck and Beat the Buzzer, where diamond prizes were on offer, all while raising money for War Child.
Over in south London, comedian Joanne McNally hosted a stylish summer lunch to celebrate the launch of the new Casillero del Diablo rosé at Perola, Battersea Power Station.
The podcast host and other stars like Angela Scanlon and Angellica Bell were welcomed with chilled glasses of Casillero del Diablo rosé, canapés and a striking ice sculpture and rosé ice luge.
Commenting on the launch, McNally quipped: “I can’t bear anything tepid, I need my wine to taste like the Antarctic , I’d happily pop an iceberg in my rose.
“During this heatwave I have momentarily taken my head out of my freezer to cut the ribbon on this delicious new rosé from Casillero del Diablo and honestly I’ve never felt more connected to a wine in my life. Long may this Casillero del Diablo rosé reign.”
In Leicester Square, Hollywood A-listers turned out for the MGM+ premiere of the new crime drama The Westies.
Stars JK Simmons, Titus Welliver, Tom Brittney, Jessica Frances Dukes and Hillary McCormack joined creators Chris Brancato and Michael Panes at the Odeon Luxe ahead of the series' debut next month, July 12, bringing a little Hell's Kitchen to the West End.
Elsewhere in Soho, a literary adaptation had London's film crowd swooning.
Daisy Edgar-Jones toasted the release of the first trailer for the hotly anticipated Sense and Sensibility at Soho House Dean Street, where the actress, dressed in Alessandra Rich, celebrated alongside film fans.
Edgar-Jones, who stars as Elinor Dashwood, described the film, which arrives in cinemas on September 25, as “everything to me”, adding that leading a new adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel had been “the dream” project.
Judging by the reaction to Thursday's trailer drop, audiences are already swooning too for the film, which also stars George McKay, Caitriona Balfe and Fiona Shaw.
Heading into the evening, tastemakers and influencers from the worlds of film, design, fashion, art, music, hospitality and business gathered to celebrate the unveiling of RH London, The Gallery in Mayfair.
The event was attended by guests including Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley, Theo James, Henry Cavill, Guy Ritchie, Janet Jackson, Hayley Atwell, Adwoa Aboah, and Poppy Delevingne.
Guests enjoyed sushi by Endo Kazutoshi, caviar by Petrossian, craft cocktails by legendary bartender Colin Field, Vesper Martinis by Alessandro Palazzi of Duke’s Bar London and Negroni Spagliatos by Bar Basso Milan set to a performance by Carlita.
Designed by Giacomo Leoni, the pioneer of English Palladianism, RH London, The Gallery boasts restaurants The Dining Room and The Perch as well as interior design services.
Meanwhile, Sir Elton John and David Furnish opted for one of London's most coveted dinner tables.
The couple gathered friends at the River Café to celebrate Elton John Zero, their new premium alcohol-free sparkling wine, with Ruthie Rogers hosting a leisurely summer supper overlooking the Thames.
Jessie Ware, Clara Amfo, Gemma Collins, Joe Locke, Damian Hurley, Kadiff Kirwan, Jacob Alon and Kristen McMenamy were among those sipping glasses of the new Blanc de Blancs before sitting down to River Café favourites including tomato risotto, roasted sea bass and lemon tart.
The launch also revealed that the River Café was the first restaurant to stock Elton John Zero, perhaps the chicest endorsement a new drinks brand could hope for.
