Chelsea have won just one game in their last 10 matches in all competitions with pressure building on manager Graham Potter. The 47-year-old was appointed as Thomas Tuchel's successor last year in September but things haven't quite gone to plan.
Under Roman Abramovich's ownership, Chelsea appointed world-class manager after world-class manager which paid dividends in terms of trophies and success. Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have stood by Potter throughout the struggles this season but their resolve is being tested after a run of poor form.
The Blues have raised eyebrows with their transfer business since Boehly and Clearlake Capital completed a £4billion takeover at Stamford Bridge. The sheer quantity of new signings has left Potter with an inflated squad, but there are deeper problems at the club at present.

football.london understands Boehly and Eghbali – for now – remain supportive of Potter and his job isn't under immediate threat. A number of names have been thrown about as potential successors to Potter should the Chelsea ownership make the decision to sack the 47-year-old, with former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane being a favourable option amongst supporters.
The French icon has had a lot to say about his future since leaving Madrid in May 2021. Zidane became an ambassador for Alpine and spoke about what his plans for the future are at the Alpine F1 car launch event earlier this month.
“Now I have time, but I don't know for how long. I know I want to coach again, maybe I will have time until June, but things can go very fast — for sure, to resume coaching remains my desire," Zidane said.
The ex-Madrid boss won two La Liga titles, three UEFA Champions League titles, two Spanish Supercopa trophies, two UEFA Super Cup titles and two FIFA Club World Cup titles in his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Zidane could be the world-class winning manager that Chelsea need right now after the huge investment made by the ownership in the last year, despite their view of a long-term project at Stamford Bridge.
