Zendaya's latest red carpet look was a lavish gown intended to represent an "abstract" spider.
The actress has been thrilling fashion fans with her press tour outfits for The Odyssey in recent weeks and she changed up her style while promoting her superhero movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day. She stepped out for the Los Angeles premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Monday (27.07.26) wearing a black satin gown by Ashi Studio - featuring a corset and a long train - and her stylist Law Roach has now explained how the dress was linked to the film.
He told Variety: "It’s kind of an abstract way to present the spider. You know, in our mind, it’s like this metamorphosis of this woman into this thing."
He added the actress wore jewellery by Boucheron for the final stop on her Spider-Man tour.
Roach admitted he struggled to pick his favourite look from Zendaya's Spider-Man press tour but he did love the vintage John Galliano spiderweb dress she wore for the London premiere last month.
The stylist has been going to great lengths to dress his most famous client for her busy summer of film promotion - and he recently revealed he took a private jet to Paris, France to collect a Schiaparelli gown straight from the runway so Zendaya could wear it to the London premiere of The Odyssey hours later.
Speaking to social media star Lyas, Roach explained he came to Paris to pick up the dress, saying: "Yes, I flew in last night to come to the show; I have a private jet waiting for me ... To get that dress off of her [the model], to get it to London to put it on a very special girl."
However, not all of Zendaya's looks have been pricey couture fashion. The actress attended a photocall for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Paris, France, wearing a $35 vintage Spider-Man T-shirt and a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps - and Roach revealed she bought the 2XL graphic print tee from eBay for just $34.99.
The description for the item revealed it was pre-owned but in "good" condition. Sharing a screenshot of the original listing on his Instagram Story, the stylist quipped: "Style doesn't always have to cost a fortune."
