Zendaya took Coachella by storm on Saturday when she made a surprise appearance at the end of Labrinth’s set.
Marking her first live performance in over seven years, Zendaya joined Labrinth in singing the last two songs of his performace — "I’m Tired" and "All for Us," the latter of which was written for the HBO series Euphoria in which she plays the lead, Rue Bennett.
The 26-year-old actress, who was officially announced as the new ambassador for luxury French fashion label Louis Vuitton on Friday, danced onto the stage wearing a pink ruffle hem leather mini dress, paired with black lace-up thigh high boots by Christian Louboutin. She wore the dress —an archive Roberto Cavalli piece from 2004 sourced by Aralda Vintage — styled over a classic white tank for a relaxed cool-girl aesthetic.
For anyone looking for festival outfit inspo for the summer, the Y2K-inspired look is an easy formula to emulate. Simply take one cutesy, hyper-feminine babydoll mini, dress it down with the addition of a white tee, and toughen it up with grungey black boots, et voila!
Whether you’re keen to rock a lingerie-inspired lace slip dress or a sexy corseted number (both of which have been recurrent themes on the runways of late), layering your flirty mini over a white tank or tee makes it feel more daytime, dancing-in-a-field appropriate. While Zendaya’s boots were towering stilettos, a similar (and safer) effect could be achieved with over the knee stomper boots or a regular lace up black biker boot. For extra 90s grunge bonus points, add lashings of black eyeliner and black nail polish. From high-street ruffle dresses to statement footwear, shop the look below.
